New York City Marathon

I’m running the 2026 NYC Marathon to raise money for The Peregrine Fund — a nonprofit dedicated to raptor conservation worldwide. I first connected with their work through the California condor project in northern Arizona, where I eventually began volunteering and have now been involved for the past eight years. Through countless hours photographing condors, I learned so much about them that they quickly became my favorite bird. Since then, I’ve also come to appreciate the breadth of The Peregrine Fund’s programs and the impact they have protecting raptor species around the world. Please watch the video at the bottom of this page to see one of their project successes firsthand.

This will be my first race in 23 years — and it’s definitely going to be a challenge. Along with the training required to complete 26.2 miles, I’m also committed to raising at least $3,500 for The Peregrine Fund as part of my nonprofit entry. I’d be grateful for any donation you feel able to contribute. Every gift, large or small, makes a real difference for raptor conservation.

As an added incentive, anyone who donates $50 or more will be entered into a raffle for a limited-edition (1 of 1) 11x14" platinum/palladium print of a California condor from the population The Peregrine Fund manages. For every $50 donated, you’ll receive one additional entry into the drawing ($50, one entry; $100, two entries; etc.). The print is valued at $2,000

The image below is the photograph that will be offered as the platinum print. Among the most prized objects in fine art photography, platinum and palladium prints are made by coating paper with light-sensitive metal salts rather than the silver compounds found in conventional photographs. The result is an image rendered entirely in precious metals — ones that are chemically inert and extraordinarily stable. While an ink, pigment, or silver-based photograph may fade or shift in color within decades, a platinum/palladium print is effectively permanent, with an archival life measured in centuries or even millennia under normal conditions.

Beyond their longevity, these prints possess a depth and tonal richness that collectors and curators consistently describe as unmatched — a long, luminous scale of grays with a matte surface that seems to emerge from the paper itself rather than sit on top of it. The print is also handcrafted by Andrew. For collectors, that combination of permanence, beauty, and labor-intensive craft places platinum/palladium prints in a category apart from nearly any other photographic medium.
